Well, I left the ending like this on purpose. You can think what you want, but the main point was for hope and new beginnings (which was another overarching theme).
In my head though, the Fates give Jonghyun all his memories back--he doesn't forget them when he's human anymore. And while that may be all well and good on first glance, there's a lot of angst there too---Jonghyun will always be burdened with guilt from what's happened. And 10 millennia will have changed the dynamics of their relationship.
