Also, I think this'll be around 18 chapters. Tentatively. And I will most likely update this every two weeks.
I was researching on Valentine's Day, and then I saw that Korea celebrated something called Black Day. After being extremely amused at the concept, I decided to use it here (and the next chapter too).

"This movie is boring," Kibum faux-whispered. Minho, sitting on his left, ignored him as usual, and Jonghyun, on his right, muttered an agreement. Kibum poked Minho's shoulder.
"I want to leave," Kibum said. The woman on the screen gave an ear pitching scream and ran around in circles.
"Go then." Minho said, with no intention of coming with.
Kibum frowned, and poked Jonghyun on the shoulder.
"Want to ditch?"
"I have a better idea," Jonghyun said. He took a kernel of popcorn from the bucket and threw it at a bald man four rows in front of them, to the left. Kibum's eyes widened, Minho stiffened, and Kibum could hear Jinki whisper a faint 'oh-my-God'.
Jonghyun offered the bucket to Kibum, grinning.
Twenty minutes later, Jinki was flapping his hands and Minho was watching the scene with equal parts amusement and worry. Kibum and Jonghyun were holding a half-empty bucket of popcorn between them. They were all hiding behind the rows of seats, when one of the movie's security guards shone a flashlight on them. Kibum was pretty sure he was frowning, only his mustache was hiding it.
Fifteen minutes later, they were outside the movie house, ears ringing with threats from the manager. Jinki looked worried at the thought he could never watch movies at this theater again. Minho had his arms folded across his chest. They all stared at each other, quiet. Kibum's lips twitched. Jonghyun's eyes were alight with laughter. Jonghyun placed his arm casually on Kibum’s shoulder, elbow digging where Kibum's head met his neck. Kibum looked at him and Jonghyun gave him a shit-eating grin, and they both burst out laughing,
"Hyung, that's not funny." Minho said, lips twitching. He was looking at Jonghyun.
"Not even when the man stood up and ran outside screaming about aliens?" Kibum asked between bouts of laughter. Minho bit his lip, torn between laughing at the memory and scolding his friends. Jonghyun ran around in a little circle, imitating the man earlier. Minho and Jinki looked at each other before bursting out into laughter.
"YAH!" The manager came out again, red faced. "STOP DISTURBING MY PROPERTY." He walked over to them, steps measured. Minho put an arm around Jinki, pushing lightly and they run. Jonghyun tugged on Kibum's hand mid-circle, and they ran away laughing. Kibum stuck his tongue out at the manager over his shoulder.
It was seven o'clock and three minutes in the morning when Kibum saw the note taped to his locker door. He stared at red words on the paper for a minute, before scowling and crumpling it in his fist.
"Hey," A familiar voice called out. Kibum jumped, hastily shoving the paper in his pocket. Jonghyun walked up to his locker, fiddling with his combination lock. 7:05, exactly on time. Jonghyun grinned at him as he pulled his books out from his locker. "What are you hiding there?"
"Nothing," Kibum replied, eyebrow rising. He opened his own locker. Jonghyun shut his with a bang and peeked over his shoulder. Kibum rolled his eyes, and started taking out the books he needed for his morning classes. He tried to ignore how close Jonghyun was, how he could feel Jonghyn's body heat emanating from behind him.
"Your locker is so...neat." Kibum's books were placed according the time he was going to use them. His P.E. uniform was folded neatly on the other side of locker, under some skin care products.
"Of course," Kibum replied, one hand about to shut the metal door.
"Wait, wait," Jonghyun said. He was peeking at Kibum's locker door--where pictures of him and his friends were artfully posted on pink paper.
"You and Minho have been friends for a long time," Jonghyun said off-handedly, reaching out to touch a picture. It was of Kibum, Minho and what looked to be Minho's elder brother in front of some bleachers. Minho was wearing a soccer uniform, and holding a ball under his harm.
"Yeah, can't get rid of him." Kibum grinned. Jonghyun's hand fleeted over to another picture, this one of Kibum, Minho and a bunch of girls. It was taken in an amusement park. Kibum had his arm around a girl with hair cut short, and they were both making peace signs at the camera. Jonghyun hesitated for a second, before he asked, "Girlfriend?"
Kibum burst out laughing. Loudly. Jonghyun stepped back, confusion on his face. The bell rang.
"Oh, I have to go. Ms. Kwan will give me detention if I'm late again," Kibum said between wheezes. He slammed his door shut and headed off to his classroom, leaving a confused Jonghyun behind muttering, "What's so funny?"
It was almost April, and the workload was starting to get heavier. The clubs were on their last week of recruiting too. Jonghyun and Jinki were already in the Glee club, and Minho had already been approached by the soccer team. Kibum was still deciding between the drama club or the home-ec club.
"Home ec?" Jonghyun asked, making a face. "That's for girls."
Kibum rolled his eyes, "I don't like stereotypes, thank you very much."
"You can make us stuff in home ec," Jinki said, before focusing on his chicken.
Jonghyun appeared to be considering this. "Yeah, that's a good enough reason. Take home ec." He flashed Kibum one of his grins.
Kibum's heart thumped in his ribcage. "Just for that, I'll join the drama club."
"What?" Jonghyun spluttered, and Minho laughed.
Kibum grinned sweetly.
"You know the glee and drama club put on a musical every year before winter break?" Jinki said.
"Really?" Kibum asked, genuinely interested.
Jonghyun nodded. "Jinki-hyung was lead last year. They usually draw lots for the characters."
"That's weird. Why can't they base it on talent?"
"Exposure," Jinki replied. "So that the same people won't be the leads over and over."
"That’s silly," Kibum sniffed. "If you're good, then you're good. You deserve that shot."
"What did you put on last year?" Minho asked, steering away from what he knew would lead Kibum to rant.
"Les Miserables," Jinki replied.
"And Jinki-hyung was the lead?" Kibum asked.
"Yup," Jonghyun grinned, putting an arm around Jinki while Jinki looked at his feet in embarrassment.
Kibum started giggling.
"What?" Jonghyun asked.
"Sorry," Kibum replied, still grinning. "But no matter how I look at it, Jinki-hyung can't be the abnormally strong, ex-convict Valjean."
Jinki choked on his chicken. He couldn't decide if he was shocked at Kibum's blatant display of disrespect—he was Kibum's hyung!—or from the sheer bluntness of the comment. Minho patted him at the back. "Don't worry hyung, I believe in you," He told Jinki seriously.
"You're really blunt aren't you," Jonghyun was looking at Kibum with his eyes wide, food temporarily forgotten.
Kibum shrugged. "I don't like lying about what I think," He finished the rest of his diet soda.
The walk back to school was uneventful. Minho asked them more about the play. Jinki and Jonghyun related the production last year and the year before, Jonghyun knocking shoulders with Kibum as they walked.
It was Saturday morning. Minho bowed politely to Kibum's mother, who smiled at him warmly and told him Kibum was upstairs in his bedroom. Knowing Kibum, he was probably singing in his bedroom this time of the morning. He made his way up the grand staircase, and sure enough, he heard Kibum's voice as soon as he got on the landing. Kibum's room was the furthest from the staircase.
"IT'S A QUARTER AFTER ONE, I'M ALL ALONE AND I NEED YOU NOW,"
Minho rolled his eyes, and knocked on the white door.
"I SAID I WOULDN'T COME BUT I LOST ALL CONTROL AND I NEED YOU NOW"
Minho opened the door, shifting the soccer ball and training bag he was carrying. Kibum was standing on his bed, hairbrush in one hand, laptop speakers blaring.
"AND I DON'T KNOW HOW I CAN DOOO WITHOUT" Kibum was switching pitches according to whoever was singing. Minho walked over to his laptop and closed the Itunes window.
"I JUST NEED YOU--HEY!" Kibum glared at him. Minho looked back coolly.
"It's 10am. You said you'd come with me today. Get dressed."
Kibum rolled his eyes, but jumped off the bed with anyway. He opened his walk-in closet, went inside and closed the door behind him. Minho sat on Kibum's desk chair and checked his e-mail. There wasn't much to check, so he started playing Plants VS Zombies instead. Five levels later, Kibum finally emerged, dressed in dark skinny jeans, Nikes and a black vest over a pink shirt.
"It's going to be hot out," Minho said warily, looking at Kibum's clothes.
"I'm bringing a fan," Kibum replied, shoving said item, an umbrella and his iPod into his bag.
"Don't start complaining about the heat," Minho muttered, knowing full well that Kibum would. He grabbed his bag and soccer ball from the carpeted floor.
Kibum rolled his eyes, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "It isn't complaining, it's just talking about the weather."
Minho was practicing with a couple of his brother's friends—Eunhyuk and Donghae. Eunhyuk was in the soccer team at his college, and Donghae was there because he had nothing better to do. Kibum watched them from the sidelines under his umbrella, listening to his iPod and singing along. Eventually, he got bored and pulled out his mobile phone and began texting.
Twenty minutes later, Jonghyun came up the field. Minho was concentrating on practice, so he headed over to the bleachers where Kibum was waving at him. Kibum pulled out one earphone and smiled at him.
"So you do this often?" Jonghyun asked, sitting down next to him. He motioned to the field.
"Yeah, he practices with them every other Saturday." Kibum bopped his head with the music from one ear.
"Why don't you play? I think it'll get boring, just watching them train." Minho was trying to pass the ball to Donghae, but was being heavily guarded by Eunhyuk.
Kibum snorted. "Watch. You'll get creamed if you aren't as good as them." He wrinkled his nose. "And sports isn't really my thing."
Jonghyun looked at him and muttered, "Obviously."
"What?"
Jonghyun grinned, raising his hands up to protect himself from the glare Kibum was shooting him. "Home ec, drama club, locker with pictures."
Kibum rolled his eyes and put his earphone back in. Jonghyun grinned and pulled it back out.
Kibum shot him an annoyed look.
"What are you listening to?" Jonghyun asked. Without waiting for an answer, he put the bud in his ear.
"Hey, I like this song." He bopped his head and shoulders to the beat. He looked ridiculous. Kibum looked at him and laughed, clutching his stomach. Jonghyun grabbed his wrist and started to move it in time with the beat.
"No, no, don't infect me with your crazy." Kibum laughed, trying to tug his arm away. Jonghyun held tight and started singing along, using Kibum's hand as a microphone. He was grinning as he looked seriously into Kibum's eyes. Jonghyun's eyes were like chocolate in the sunlight. Kibum felt his breath catch. His heart rate sped up.
Jonghyun laughed. "Hey, are you okay? You look kind of flushed."
Kibum finally tugged his arm free, fighting the blush that threatened to grace his cheeks. "I'm fine."
Jonghyun shot him a grin, looking at him from the corner of his eye. "Captivated by my voice?"
Kibum rolled his eyes and shoved him, muttering, "You wish!" even as his heart rate refused to return to normal.
"He's kind of pretty, isn't he?" Jonghyun said. It was a Monday. Their trigonometry teacher always dismissed them five minutes before the lunch bell actually rings, so they were one of the first ones in the corridor.
Jinki gave him a confused look. "Who?"
"Kibum," Jonghyun replied, shifting his backpack from his arm to his shoulder.
"Er," Jinki said, blinking. "He's a boy."
Jonghyun shrugged, "Yeah, so?"
"I don't know. He's a boy. I don't look at boys like that," Jinki said, confusion on his face. He peeked at Jonghyun under the corner of his eye.
Jonghyun spluttered, automatically defensive. "I don't either! He's just kind of pretty." He looked at Jinki, who had a disbelieving look on his face. Jonghyun shrugged and said, "Nevermind, forget I ever said anything."
They were nearing Jonghyun's locker. Jinki hesitated, before he started, kind of awkwardly, "You know, Jonghyun, if you ... swing like that, it's okay. I'll still be your friend."
Jonghyun gave him a look, and forced a laugh. "I said forget about it, alright? Let's go eat some lunch."
They were at their usual table. Minho and Jonghyun were starting on their food, while Jinki and Kibum were at the counter. Kibum plopped his tray on the spot next to Jonghyun. Jonghyun jumped a little in surprise. He blushed as Minho and Kibum laughed at him. Kibum settled on the seat next to him, his knee knocking his by accident. Jonghyun shifted a little, but since he was in the corner, he really had no room to move. Kibum was eating a salad and talking non-stop again, and Jonghyun for once, was quiet and not matching his chatter. He tried to avoid looking at Kibum, and sat with his legs pressed close together so he wouldn't have to touch Kibum, even if accidentally. It took ten minutes before Kibum noticed.
"What's wrong with you, why are you so stiff?" Kibum gave him a weird look. It was the same look Kibum gave Jinki when he'd attempt to make pun. The tension eased out of Jonghyun's shoulders and he laughed. "Sorry, just had a weird conversation with Jinki."
Kibum rolled his eyes. "Don't let him infect you with his weird."
"My what?" Jinki asked, coming up the table. He managed not to spill anything on his way.
Kibum grinned at him sweetly, "Nothing." Jonghyun laughed and Minho shook his head.
"Hey, hey." Kibum started, sitting up straight in his seat. "It's April 14th tomorrow. Let's celebrate Black Day!"
"But I got gifts on Valentine's Day," Jonghyun replied. He grabbed the ketchup from Kibum's tray.
"Yeah, but you're single now aren't you?"
Jonghyun shrugged, and focused on eating his burger. Kibum looked at Minho and Jinki.
"Great, after school. Let's go to my house. I'll cook jajangmyeon."
"You cook?" Jonghyun asked, eyebrow raised at the same time Jinki said, "I can't go."
Kibum couldn't decide which one to glare at, so he decided for both. It was an amazing feat, since Jonghyun was sitting next to him and Jinki was sitting across Kibum.
"Yes, I cook." And then to Jinki. "And why can't you come? It's not like you have a girlfriend."
Jinki flushed. "I can't, I have things to do. Sorry," and he began to stuff his mouth with food, so he wouldn't have to answer any of their questions.

"Hey, I like this song." He bopped his head and shoulders to the beat. He looked ridiculous. Kibum looked at him and laughed, clutching his stomach. Jonghyun grabbed his wrist and started to move it in time with the beat.
"No, no, don't infect me with your crazy." Kibum laughed, trying to tug his arm away. Jonghyun held tight and started singing along, using Kibum's hand as a microphone. He was grinning as he looked seriously into Kibum's eyes. Jonghyun's eyes were like chocolate in the sunlight. Kibum felt his breath catch. His heart rate sped up.
Jonghyun laughed. "Hey, are you okay? You look kind of flushed."
Kibum finally tugged his arm free, fighting the blush that threatened to grace his cheeks. "I'm fine."
Jonghyun shot him a grin, looking at him from the corner of his eye. "Captivated by my voice?"
Kibum rolled his eyes and shoved him, muttering, "You wish!" even as his heart rate refused to return to normal.
"He's kind of pretty, isn't he?" Jonghyun said. It was a Monday. Their trigonometry teacher always dismissed them five minutes before the lunch bell actually rings, so they were one of the first ones in the corridor.
Jinki gave him a confused look. "Who?"
"Kibum," Jonghyun replied, shifting his backpack from his arm to his shoulder.
"Er," Jinki said, blinking. "He's a boy."
Jonghyun shrugged, "Yeah, so?"
"I don't know. He's a boy. I don't look at boys like that," Jinki said, confusion on his face. He peeked at Jonghyun under the corner of his eye.
Jonghyun spluttered, automatically defensive. "I don't either! He's just kind of pretty." He looked at Jinki, who had a disbelieving look on his face. Jonghyun shrugged and said, "Nevermind, forget I ever said anything."
They were nearing Jonghyun's locker. Jinki hesitated, before he started, kind of awkwardly, "You know, Jonghyun, if you ... swing like that, it's okay. I'll still be your friend."
Jonghyun gave him a look, and forced a laugh. "I said forget about it, alright? Let's go eat some lunch."
They were at their usual table. Minho and Jonghyun were starting on their food, while Jinki and Kibum were at the counter. Kibum plopped his tray on the spot next to Jonghyun. Jonghyun jumped a little in surprise. He blushed as Minho and Kibum laughed at him. Kibum settled on the seat next to him, his knee knocking his by accident. Jonghyun shifted a little, but since he was in the corner, he really had no room to move. Kibum was eating a salad and talking non-stop again, and Jonghyun for once, was quiet and not matching his chatter. He tried to avoid looking at Kibum, and sat with his legs pressed close together so he wouldn't have to touch Kibum, even if accidentally. It took ten minutes before Kibum noticed.
"What's wrong with you, why are you so stiff?" Kibum gave him a weird look. It was the same look Kibum gave Jinki when he'd attempt to make pun. The tension eased out of Jonghyun's shoulders and he laughed. "Sorry, just had a weird conversation with Jinki."
Kibum rolled his eyes. "Don't let him infect you with his weird."
"My what?" Jinki asked, coming up the table. He managed not to spill anything on his way.
Kibum grinned at him sweetly, "Nothing." Jonghyun laughed and Minho shook his head.
"Hey, hey." Kibum started, sitting up straight in his seat. "It's April 14th tomorrow. Let's celebrate Black Day!"
"But I got gifts on Valentine's Day," Jonghyun replied. He grabbed the ketchup from Kibum's tray.
"Yeah, but you're single now aren't you?"
Jonghyun shrugged, and focused on eating his burger. Kibum looked at Minho and Jinki.
"Great, after school. Let's go to my house. I'll cook jajangmyeon."
"You cook?" Jonghyun asked, eyebrow raised at the same time Jinki said, "I can't go."
Kibum couldn't decide which one to glare at, so he decided for both. It was an amazing feat, since Jonghyun was sitting next to him and Jinki was sitting across Kibum.
"Yes, I cook." And then to Jinki. "And why can't you come? It's not like you have a girlfriend."
Jinki flushed. "I can't, I have things to do. Sorry," and he began to stuff his mouth with food, so he wouldn't have to answer any of their questions.
